Our 2017 season began with the green opening on April 24th and with it being in excellent condition everyone was raring to go.

Again we hosted a Play Bowls Day with 4 subsequent Play Bowls 4 Fun days which resulted in 2 new members joining our club. We would like to thank Elsie for all her hard work during these coaching days.

At the beginning of May we was very pleased to welcome 4 coaches from Bowls for England who not only helped the novices within our club to understand the game and rules of bowls, but also reminded the more experienced bowlers of the rules too. It was a very enjoyable and informative day. Again thank you Elsie for organising this event.

This year male bowlers both from Parkside Greens and Woods joined forces to enter a team in the East Herts Mens League. The men started our season off and at the present time are top of their division (albeit the 3rd division), but what a great start to a new venture.

Parkside Greens have also made a good start to the season winning 2 games out of their opening 3 with 10 points on the board, only 3 points behind the leaders who have played 1 more game.

Parkside Woods have made a slightly slower start with just 1 win from their 3 games, but feel they will soon be on a winning streak.

Our Club Friendlies began with Parkside Greens versus Parkside Woods. Although the games resulted in 2 rinks each, the Greens got their revenge with a narrow overall points victory.

With our weekly roll up days being very well supported our season has got off to a very enjoyable month and the weather hasn't been too bad either.
