At the meeting of Medway Council Planning Meeting on Wednesday August 19th, the members voted unanimously to defer the decision on the proposed development at Cliffe Woods; there was a suggestion that the planning department would negotiate further with the developer.

The SAVE committee would like to sincerely thank the residents of Cliffe Woods and other local areas, who wrote to Strood Rural councillors, the local MP Kelly Tollhurst, the Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Parish Council and the Secretary of State, Robert Jenrick. Our local councillors and MP, were able to strongly object to the proposal for more building.

If you are now able, we ask that you please once again find time to write to those same people, expanding on your ideas, or adding new ones. At present this is simply a deferral and we all need to keep up the pressure, in order to maintain what is left of our village atmosphere.
