On 26 March we were invited to meet management representatives of Regency Living (Dunton Park’s new owners) so they could introduce themselves. We also had a chat about the site and how disappointed we were with the previous owners. But to be fair, Regency seems keen to have a much better relationship.

Because we’re a ‘qualifying’ residents association, the landlord has a statutory duty to consult with us but that was rarely done with the previous owners. However, Regency management have a different ethos and have already agreed to regular meetings and updates with us.

Regency Living are currently managing the site alongside the administrators but as soon as Basildon Council issues Regency their licence to operate the site, the administrator’s duties will end. The council are making regular visits to the site as they prepare the new licence conditions so everything’s rolling along nicely.

Once the licence is issued, Regency Living will write to all residents introducing themselves. They will also be enclosing a feedback form to give us all a chance to have our voices heard.

Also, it was good to hear that Regency are keen to improve current sites before ploughing ahead with any expansion plans, and we have already given them a run down about the condition of the roads, street lighting and signage. With Regency taking over 30+ sites, we can’t expect everything to be done overnight but we can look forward to improvements as we move forward.
