Breckland District Council are replacing the benches in around Swaffham Market Place as part of the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) programme. This is a nationwide initiative to secure lasting improvements to historic high streets.

Some of the benches have memorial plaques inserted into the benches. The plaques will be removed and placed into the new benches at the same location. If you own a plaque and prefer not to have it moved to a new bench please email deputyclerk@swaffhamtowncouncil.gov.uk or telephone 01760 722922 and we can arrange for it to be collected from the Town Hall.
