On Tuesday evening, Terry Heath, Sean Lassman (subbing for Ric Newson) and Ted Brown took on a team skipped by Basingstoke Town's Keith McEwan in the semi-final of the Basingstoke and District Triples. At 11 ends, Oakley led comfortably by 17 shots to 9 and, although Town then reduced the deficit to 4 shots, Oakley scored 10 shots over the last 4 ends to move into the Final, against Ian Hayward of Whitchurch, with a 27-13 victory.

Two nights later and with Ric still on holiday, the same team played in the semi-final of the District Two Wood Triples. Oakley were guaranteed a finalist as their opponents were clubmates David Nutley, Duncan Wilkins and Peter Nutley. Ted's team was in control throughout and recorded a comfortable victory so moving into another District Final. The Club wishes them good luck in both events at the Finals at Howard Park on 18/19th August.
