Men's Captain Notes
Captain's Note
A very demanding period of Bowling with the last three weeks, in particular, asking bowlers to play 5 consecutive days every week.
We have played multiple rounds of Top Club and Turnbull winning against some very strong sides, playing against teams we would not meet in the League matches. A big thank you to all players that have participated and made themselves available.
We are having a very successful season so far across all leagues, a very good team spirit exists and that is showing in the way you are supporting each other while on the field of play. In the friendly matches arranged while we had blank league weekends, we have been able to give new bowlers their debuts representing Wellington and several are playing regularly in our competitive leagues.
SW1
The A team remain unbeaten and top of the league, we have some critical matches ahead playing those teams that are just behind us.
The B team had a very good 12-0 Win against Taunton away, and have won two matches and picked up rink points in matches lost. With both teams in the same league, all points won will help the A team in our quest to return to Prem 2.
Wednesday Over 60s Triples
All Three teams are in contention for promotion
A team lead division 5 and have opened a good lead on second-placed Morchard Bishop
B Team are second, it will be a race to hold second place as the league leaders are still unbeaten.
C Team Second in the league, and again the first placed team is well clear of those chasing second place.
WSBL Triples
The A Team is in contention having won four out of five games.
The B team is in fourth place in league two with our C team yet to manage a win but those playing have had some really close finishes but unable to get that win. I am positive that elusive win will be achieved.
With the holiday season in full flow Please continue to update your availability for matches as this is crucial in minimising changes once teams have been selected. Take care when updating to ensure you are in the correct row on the sheet we have experienced several erroneous entries!
Please also note that any person unable to play when selected MUST contact me or one of the selectors to allow us to find a replacement at the earliest opportunity.
Enjoy your bowling
