Good afternoon,

I am writing to update you regarding a potential water supply issue in Lenham, Egerton Charing and the surrounding areas.

Due to incredibly high demand caused by the continued hot and dry weather we have been experiencing, water levels in our storage tanks have dropped to a level where we are likely to see interruptions to customer supply.

Our treatment and storage facilities are working at full capacity in order to supply the area with as much water as possible. However, the demand for water is currently greater than the amount we are able to treat and pump to our customers.

What are we doing

We are proactively delivering bottled water to everyone within the impacted area so that no one goes without a supply of drinking water.

We are also changing the way water moves around our network in order to keep the levels in the storage tank as high as possible.

We understand that any interruption to water supply is incredibly frustrating, especially during periods of hot weather.

We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption and fix the issue as soon as possible.

We’re asking customers to use water for essential purposes only: drinking, cooking and hygiene.

Keeping you updated

We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide a further update this evening. Please share this information within your communities.

Kindest regards,

Rob Hall

Incident Manager
