The day was well attended, 'mufti' being the uniform; fun and raising money the aim for all.

'Hollins' the spider started the day looking absolutely stunning against the vibrant green of the Green. Three games, traditional, chalkies and scoungers, each 7 ends were then played. Each player held an individual scorecards throughout, teams were re-drawn between each game so as to produce an overall winner. I'd like to say it ran smoothly but that would be no fun, and we had fun.

The games were followed by tea (beer & wine) and cake, check the cakes out, delicious.

Then the formal part, presentations.

This year saw the first Cyril Roberts Award, it was presented by Janet Roberts to the smartest bowler of the day who also moaned the most - John Everest.

We were all winners however the bowler with the highest score was Ray Ash. Thanks were given to all and, of course, fines levied, many members in denial but Alan Boxall put his hand up, fair cop!

The raffle table survived the weight of the prizes mostly bottles, a great number of the went to Elstead with Clive!

Many thanks for very generous donations of cakes and raffle prizes.

Great day, great club, great teamwork and lots of money raised.
