We hope that you found something enjoyable to do over the Easter weekend, whether it was a walk in the sunshine, a doze in the garden or on the balcony, or something good to eat. Apart from the practical difficulties of this new way of life, we are all affected by not spending time with our families and friends. Isolation can be very stressful, so we have launched Cheerful Chats! Lots of people are starting to phone other people, most of whom they don’t already know, to have a good chat. The internet is a lifeline, but nothing can replace the sound of a human voice. One lady has already arranged to have coffee with the lady who has rung her – once this is all over! Why not join? cheerfulchatsmos@gmail.com

Our Mutual Aid Group is growing in numbers. If you, or someone you know, are self isolating, please get in touch. Maybe you need a prescription or some shopping. If you can’t get a supermarket slot, or don’t like ordering on the internet, our brilliant volunteers will get what you need. We have a special arrangement with Holland’s, who will deliver directly to you. We have now also set up our own Rapid Response team to collect urgent prescriptions. Just send us an email: Moscovidmutualaid@gmail.com

Many of you who are self isolating have contacted us to ask how you can contribute to the volunteer efforts. People are signing up every day to be Cheerful Chatters. If you are handy with a sewing machine, New Forest Sewing for the NHS has been set up to make drawstring bags to supply to NHS staff. They use them to put their uniforms in to take home and place straight into the wash, reducing any contamination to families. The Hospitals cannot receive enough. They have shipped over 1000 bags in the last 7 days to Lymington, Southampton and Bournemouth Hospitals. Becton Rotary are organising the logistics and have drop off points in Milford. They can arrange collection and supply some material if required. You can find it on Facebook or email Keith on treasurer@bectonrotary.org.uk

Please let us know if there is anything else you would like us to include on our website. Stay safe at home.
