The Northumberland Association of Local Councils (NALC) has announced the creation of a new Parish Innovation Fund to support creative, community-led projects across the county.

Open to all member councils, the fund will offer small grants of up to £2,500 for initiatives that improve local engagement, enhance public spaces, or introduce sustainable solutions at parish level.

NALC Chair Councillor Helen Forster said:

“We want to give councils the flexibility to trial new ideas that make a real difference — whether that’s a digital noticeboard, a youth engagement project, or a local climate initiative.”

Applications open in May, with successful projects to be showcased later in the year on the NALC website.
Further details and application guidance will be sent to all member councils in early May.
