Message from Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council

His Majesty's Government has given notice that there is to be a National Moment of Reflection to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the National Moment of Reflection which will take place at 8pm on Sunday 18 September 2022, the night before the State Funeral, and will be marked by a one-minute silence.

The Moment of Reflection can be marked anywhere but for those who might wish to observe it in the company and friendship of others, and perhaps come together as townsfolk at the end of a sad and tumultuous week, His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Paul Cutler, will lead a small group comprising members of the DBC Cabinet, Councillors and representatives of local groups, in marking the National Moment of Reflection at the Memorial Gardens, close to Dartford Library at 8pm on Sunday evening, the eve of Her Majesty the Queen's funeral.

The event will be a simple and informal gathering.

You, your family, friends and neighbours are most welcome to join us from 7.45pm and be part of this very special moment of pause and reflection.
