Are you squeaky clean?
If everyone in the UK recycled one bathroom cleaner bottle, enough energy could be saved to vacuum around 82,460 homes.
Top 10 things everyone can recycle from their bathroom:
- Shampoo bottles
- Conditioner bottles
- Shower gel and bubble bath bottles
- Cardboard boxes e.g. toothpaste or soap boxes
- Toilet roll tubes
- Bathroom cleaner and bleach bottles
- Deodorant cans
- Shaving foam cans
- Hand soap bottles
- Moisturiser bottles
Just remember to make sure everything is clean, empty and with lids off before you pop in them in your recycling bin.

Disposing of face masks
Over 100 million disposable masks are thrown away each week in the UK, with many ending up as litter contaminating our environment and causing a hazard for wildlife.
Disposable face coverings should not be reused so please throw them away in your household general waste bin as they can not be recycled and will end up contaminating other recyclable items.
What's more where possible opt for a reusable face covering that you can wash at home and reuse rather than disposable masks!

Composting
Back in May we ran a compost bin giveaway to celebrate International Compost Week. We received over 1000 competition entries so we just want to give a little thank you shout out to all that entered.
The 50 residents that have won compost bins have now been contacted so congrats to our winners! If you won one don't forget to share a pic on social media of your compost bin in its new home #NottsRecycles.
