Sally Mills, our current Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator is having to step down from this position. Doddington Parish Council would like to thank Sally for her sterling work. The Doddington & Newnham district is looking for a volunteer to take over this role- could this be you?

The Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) Network supports individuals and groups to create safer, stronger and active communities. NHW is a partnership between the Police, community safety departments and, above all, individuals and families who wish to make their neighbourhood a better place to live. The aim of Neighbourhood Watch is to help you protect yourself and your property and to reduce the fear of crime in your community through: improved home security.

Each scheme has a co-ordinator, it is their responsibility to act as the main point of contact within their the scheme, to share information and to encourage members to circulate and implement crime prevention advice provided by the Police, and to report suspicious incidents.

NHW objectives include:

  1. Reducing crime and the opportunities for crime
  2. Helping and reassuring those who live in fear of crime
  3. An increased sense of community
  4. Helping to improve the local environment

The NHW Liaison Officer will provide you with a welcome pack with some suggestions on how to get started.
You will receive:
• A template NHW invitation to distribute to local households.
• A template welcome letter for new members.
• A NHW Members Guide
• Top tips for running a NHW scheme
• How to set up a NHW WhatsApp group

If you are able to help continue with this vital work in our community, please contact the NHW Liaison Officer via the email below
