As a continuation of the improvements being made to our outdoor spaces, Battle Town Council have approved the installation of outdoor gym equipment on the Rec.

The equipment is part of the Council’s campaign to promote healthy activities and is designed to cater for body weight training, increased flexibility and strength. This type of equipment is ideal for individuals or group workouts (when restrictions allow) and offers something for everyone from young children through to professional trainers.

The Health Pathway has been extremely popular with residents for the purpose of training and keeping fit, and it is hoped the new addition of Gym Equipment will further encourage residents to use the Rec. for both health and leisure pastimes.

In addition to the gym equipment, funding has also been agreed for a new swing set which will replace the existing toddler swings and move their location to be next to the Castle. This will bring all the age-appropriate equipment into the same area.

The double swing will also include a mirage seat for disabled children. This type of seat offers full body support and is a fully inclusive swing and supports Battle Town Council in their ambition to make the Rec. accessible to all.

Both the gym equipment and swing set will be welcome additions to Battle’s growing leisure facilities, along with future plans for further improvements to the Rec. Work on the installation of the Gym Equipment and the Swing will commence in June.
