Hatch Warren Phoenix FC in conjunction with Hampshire FA are very excited to announce that they have been invited to become part of the football associations new initiative to increase the participation of girls in football. “We are very pleased to have received the invitation from our governing body and whilst we already have girls enjoying taking part every week at Hatch Warren Phoenix it is very clear they are in the minority. The new MSC (mini Soccer Centres) being set up around the UK are a very exciting project and one we are proud to have been selected to be part of.” Daren Bavister – Club Chairman. The Football Association are actively looking to increase the amount of girls within the sport, research shows that female only teams will help, and in setting up regional mini soccer centre projects will allow local children to become part of an exciting growth in the sport.

Hatch Warren’s newest project starts on the 4th March at Hatch Warren Community centre playing fields and all girls aged from school year 1 – 6 are very welcome. “The intention will be to eventually set up female only teams, coached the modern game and enjoying everything the sport can bring. Gender aside, if girls wish to continue in a mixed sex side within the Phoenix set up they most certainly won’t be forced into female only football.” Bavister “Becoming an MSC allows us to welcome those who may have been more nervous about starting in the sport by creating a slightly different environment under the guidance and support of the local FA”
