Have you spotted the new benches that have appeared on the Village hall green?

Due to a successful bid to the National Lottery Community Fund to help pay for The (late) Queen's Platinum Jubilee fete in June, the council were then able to purchase two new benches to commemorate this historic event. The benches that were originally on the green will be found new homes in Westminster Field after requests for more comfortable benches with backs on them.

You may have also noticed the round sign to the front of the village hall green. This is the first of many that will be installed on all of the green spaces that are owned by the Parish Council within Horton Kirby and South Darenth.

After listening to residents comments that they were unaware of who owned certain parcels of land, the Recreation and Open Spaces (ROS) Committee started working on a project to overcome this. Each sign displays the Parish Council logo to show ownership, the name and postcode of that particular piece of land. The QR code will take you directly to this website for further information and news.
