Hi Everyone,

CAR PARK at NEWINGTON VILLAGE HALL - From Village Hall Committee

Hope you are all well.

As from Friday 1st May, 2026 the Car Park will cease to be a free public car park and will be under the management of the Newington Village Hall Management/Trustees Committee. The committee have decided to have UKPC (UK Parking Control Ltd), to manage the parking, from that date.

This is how it will effect your group:-

1 There will be a number recognition camara at the entrance to the car park.

2 In the main entrance inside the hall, there will be 2 key pads.

There will also be one for the scouts in their hut.

They will have the same system, plus 2 vehicles will have 24/7 parking, as a good will gesture, because they are experiencing the same problems as the hall.

3 Users of the hall will simply drive in as usual, no gates or barriers, no ticket machine.

4 MOST IMPORTANTLY, EVERYONE MUST TAP THEIR CAR REGISTRATION INTO THE PAD, ON ENTERING THE HALL.

( Not when you leave)

5 You now get free parking for the during duration of your hire of the hall.

6 Failure to put your number in will, I am afraid, mean that a fine will be issued by UKPC.

7 In order to stop outsiders from entering their registration numbers, it may be wise to have a member on the door, cheking membership, and to give a reminder out once your members are inside the hall.

8 Locking the main door from the inside, with the turn button, may also prevent non members entering and logging in.

9 All will be very clearly signed, both inside and outside the building.

10 We are allowing 2 hours free parking for the public, in order to support the local village businesses.

11 We are considering the possibility of allowing may be up to 10 residents to park 24/7, if they live adjacent to the hall and have no parking facility.

12 There will be NO PARKING from 1am – 5am other than the permitted vehicles.

13 Anyone breaking the rules displayed on the noticeboards will be issued with a PCN notice.

Thank you all for your continued support and , especially those of you that sent correspondence to SBC with your views.

Kind Regards,

Dave Fagg

(Chairman Newington Village Hall Management/Trustees Committee)
