Wow! What a great week for all our teams!
On Wednesday, our Men faced Bletchley St Martins for the second time in 5 days. This time we emerged victorious by 62-60 in our opening Bucks Cup game. The Bucks Cup awards 6 pts to the team with the overall victory plus 2 pts for each triple won. So, we collected 12 out of a possible 14 pts.
On Saturday Morning, the Ladies played Woburn Sands in their Top Club tournament and won by 3 rinks to 1. The game was played in sweltering heat and was in the balance until the final ends. In the next round they will have another home fixture against either Cheddington or Bletchley St Martins.
Our Ladies home friendly against Newport Pagnell on Tuesday, was called off due the wet weather. However, the fixture away at Brackley Ladies on Wednesday did go ahead with the home team winning by 46-40.
Steph’s run in the Ladies Champion of Champions came to an end with a very narrow defeat on Thursday Evening. Steph faced a very strong opponent from Bletchley Town and was just 2 shots short of victory.
Saturday Afternoon we hosted Wolverton Town in a mixed friendly fixture and returned to winning ways with a 69-52 victory. Well dome to Chris, Gary and Willy for picking up the best rink prizes
On Sunday we travelled to Scots and won again. This time the score was 52-42 but the game was halted after 12 ends due to the heat. The best rink prize went to Willy (again), Peter T and Eric.
