Well, the weather certainly won the early matches last week. With our green being closed for roll-ups and club competitions.

Our Ladies did pick up an excellent away 45-20 win at Winslow on Tuesday Evening, with Tricia, Tula and Sue picking up the best score prize.

Our midweek Bucks Cup and Trundell games were lost to the weather, but our men did win a very tense Senior 4s match against Bletchley St Martins, 16-15 after the match went to an extra end.

But for pure adrenaline fuelled tension you could not beat our Ladies Top Club match against Cheddington on Saturday Morning. The game ended with both teams winning 2 rinks and both teams having scored the same number of shots. After consulting the rule book, a tie break was needed. We won the tie-break 2-1.

Our weekend friendlies, away at Wolverton Park on Saturday and home to Woburn Sands on Sunday, both ended in defeat. Dave, Eric and Lorraine picked up the best winning rink award at Wolverton Park, but we didn’t have a winning rink against Woburn Sands.

Fixtures

The Ladies continue to be busy with a friendly at Banbury Borough on Tuesday and a Trundell game against Bletchley Town on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the men have their rearranged Bucks Cup game against Scots

Our weekend friendlies are home against Brackley on Saturday but the match away at Aston Clinton on Sunday has been cancelled because the hosts cannot field a team.
