It was midweek misery for us this week. Our Ladies lost all 3 triples in their visit to Stony Stratford on Wednesday, and John Br’s run in the Men’s Champion of Champions ended in defeat at Newport Pagnell

There was better news on Saturday Afternoon when we visited Banbury Chestnuts for a mixed friendly fixture and secured a 58-56 victory. Well done to Patricia, Martin and John N for picking up the best rink prizes. On Sunday we hosted Bletchley St Martins, in a friendly, and won again, this time by an impressive 92-72.

Special thanks to John N and Sue for captaining the weekend teams.

Fixtures

So, we head into ‘Flaming June’. Did you know that the expression ‘Flaming June’ comes from a famous painting and not from a dodgy weather forecast?

The Ladies kick off our fixtures this month with a home friendly against Aylesbury Town on Tuesday Afternoon and then face Woburn Sands in the Ladies Trundell on Wednesday Evening.

Our Men are also in action on Wednesday Evening when they play Stony Stratford in the Bucks Cup

For our mixed friendlies this weekend, on Saturday we travel to Cheddington and on Sunday, Bicester will be visiting us. Bicester are one of our oldest rivals, with home and away fixtures recorded in 1915. For the record, we won the home fixture.
