The August Parish Meeting was better attended by the public, mainly due to wishing to know what is happening about the Village Cross. Whilst we are aware the Herrris Fencing is an eyesore, it is for there for two reasons.

  • To prevent children climbing and getting hurt and
  • To prevent any further damage.

We as a council deemed it unsafe to leave it as it was. Councillor Reed has established that it is the responsibility of Highways. Correspondence is slow but is in the process. This does mean as a council we can’t personally arrange for repair to go ahead as its not owned by us. We can however pass on to the relevant department. the requests by individuals wishing to carry out the work.

We can also suggest that the residents are able to fund raise for such a project once we know the cost and schedule etc, We have already received a donation towards the repair. All enquiries to clerk@evercreech-pc.gov.uk

A Traffic Regulation Order will be issued in due course to address parking in Victoria Square. This is now in the hands of Highways as the Parish Council agreed with plans at the last meeting. We will expect updates as they happen.

Another reminder that we will be at the Village Show on 7th September. Do come and speak to us, we will be able to answer any of your questions. We still have a vacancy.

Next meeting will be Tuesday 3rd September at 7.00 pm in the village hall.
