We hope that the residents in the Parish have had a good Christmas and wish you all well for the New Year ahead.

Some residents will find the Christmas holidays difficult emotionally and financially, and it’s the time of year to reach out even further than usual.

Village Cross Repair Update:

SW Heritage has applied for a grant for the repairs. The outcome will be known in February 2025. The Clerk has helped with the application and now hoping for a favourable result.

We took the decision to create a Map of the village that would incorporate the assets and give us all a better image of what the Parish Council is responsible for and decided to do this on a digital platform.

“Parish Online” is currently being trialled and we will go ahead with purchase when the trial ends in February 2025. Thanks to Cllr Sellar for setting up the trial and getting ahead with the navigating the site.

The Clerk will then work with Cllr Sellar to upload all the information. The program has many other features which we believe will be an asset to the council going forward.

Under the pressure of not knowing yet the cost of some of the services expected of us due to the difficulties that Somerset Council are facing, and increased costs, we have now agreed a balanced draft budget for 25/26

We currently still have a vacancy for a cllr, if interested please inform the clerk
