Find out more about this community in:

It was a great pleasure to be able to award The Old Stores with a £300 donation towards the Beltane feast/Jack in the Green event,

This is indeed a great community event and is always well attended.

I’m seeking volunteers to put together another Community event which will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 5th of May. To mark the end of world war2 in Europe.

With the help of the WI we’d be looking at possibly using Queens Road Playing field for various activities similar to the Jubilee.

If anyone is interested, can you please contact me directly at

You may have noticed that the village square and the Bus Stop have now been painted with parking bays clearly defined,

Hopefully car users will respect this space going forward.

We will continue to address the issues around the village that include:

Street lighting. If you need to report a streetlight not working. there is a number on the pole which helps them/us identify it.

Drains/gulleys. The clerk has requested a schedule from Somerset County. This would prove extremely useful to us.

Benches. In case you aren’t aware, there is the opportunity for Memorial benches in certain locations eg Queen’s Road Playground, where the concrete base is already in place,

Please contact the clerk for clarification on design and costs etc.

It was agreed at council to adopt the Village Emergency Plan.

We have a vacancy on the council for another member.

The next full council will be 7pm Tuesday March 4th at the village Hall

All are welcome
