It appears there is a way forward regarding the Preaching Stone/Village Cross repairs.

South West Heritage Trust have received the offer of a grant of £5000 from St Andrew’s Conservation Trust

and the Parish Council were in full support and unanimous agreement in donating the same amount.

This added to the £1800 cost already incurred by the Parish Council, will leave the remainder covered by SW Heritage Trust.

The total is circa £20,130

If this goes well and to plan, we may well see the monument undergoing repairs soon.

Information will be updated at full council and available thereafter on the website.

There maybe some changes regarding free carparking in some council owned carparks.

We currently lease the carpark in Neales way, so won’t affect us while the lease is in place and we are looking to purchase.

County Councillors are working with us to try and make this happen.

You may have noticed a couple of Dog bins have been removed? There was good reason for this decision but notice people are hanging dog waste bags on the fence where the bin used to be.

Unfortunately, this won’t be collected if not in a bin.

A thank you to a resident who pointed out a potential hazard in the play area in Queens road.

We were able to react and sort it straight away before anyone was hurt.

There is still a vacancy on the council; if anyone would like to know more, please email the Clerk:

clerk@evercreech-pc.gov.uk

Next meeting is August 19th at 7pm village hall.
