Street Lights on Prestleigh Road

Several street lights along Prestleigh Road remain unfixed, owing to ongoing discussions concerning responsibility between The National Grid and Somerset County. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting any issues through the Somerset Council website.

Proposed Café at Queens Road Playing Field

A local business has put forward plans to establish a café at Queens Road Playing Field. The council has given its approval in principle, though this is subject to further detailed plans.

The council has also agreed to seek quotations for the extension of access from Shapway Road through to the playing field.

Herris Fencing at Millennium Gardens:

The Herris Fencing installed in the Millennium Gardens is currently serving its purpose by helping to prevent anti-social behaviour. The council will continue to monitor the situation.

Council Vacancy: Responsible Finance Officer (RFO)

A vacancy has arisen on the council for the position of Responsible Finance Officer (RFO). This role involves working eight hours per week, with pay negotiable and based on candidates’ experience.
