NHS 75th anniversary
Wilmington Parish Council
July 5th 2023 sees the NHS 75th anniversary and Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust are inviting everyone to celebrate this major milestone.
Since the NHS was founded on 5 July 1948, it has always innovated and adapted to meet to needs of each generation. 75 years on, the NHS’s founding principles remain as relevant today as they were then. Despite the challenges, the public still overwhelmingly support having a national health service, and it is what makes our people most proud to be British. As we mark 75 years of the NHS, it is a time to celebrate our past but more importantly, a time to think about a future where we continue to put patients first.
To mark the occasion Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust are inviting members of the community to hold a ‘NHS 75’ event on Wednesday 5th July (or another date if that is inconvenient) where the focus will be on the number 75. This may encompass walking 7.5 kilometers, ascending 75 flights of stairs, drinking 75 cups of tea (as a group!)…..you get the idea etc, etc ! A handy scale might be £5 entry per person which should hopefully keep things manageable and affordable but you are of course free to decide for yourselves.
The ‘75’ activity can be undertaken over an extended time period or concentrated during the week of 5th July and you are absolutely free to decide how to structure it.
Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust will direct all proceeds towards the Lollipop children’s fund (link below).
