NICOLE PLUCKY IN DEFEAT

This mornng at Melton and District IBC, Nicole Rogers played England Star Rebecca Field of Norfolk in the National Finals (Last 16} of the Ladies Singles. It was expected to be a hard battle for Nicole and so it proved. Throughout the early part of the game Rebecca was nailing the jack with her first two bowls and although Nicole maintained her composure losing only singles and the occasional two, she found herself after 10 ends 0-13 down. By now Nicole's supporters were fearing a white wash, but to her credit Nicole fought back and at 12-18 there remained an outside chance she could pull off a surprise. It was not to be as Rebecca then picked up a single and double for a deserved victory.
