... only bad clothes, as the Norwegians say, "det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlige klær!"

The first evening of Club Triples was played in the tail-end of Storm Francis with gusts of wind up to 50 mph. The brave souls battled through the wind and the showers to play two sets of seven ends in the new format. Some noted that the Club President played in his club shirt, a veritable man of steel. Others hid in the shed between ends. Some played one set and claimed that they were too wet to continue and sought solace in the bar. Bowls is not a sport to be played in fair weather only. Playing with a strong wind was a challenge but the players coped with this and the rain.

The results were

Ruby v Bob, points 6-0, shots 24-3

Tim v Roy, points 6-0, shots 16-7

Albert v Brian, points 3-3, shots 16-16

Thank you to Derek and Rob for organising the new format.

See you all next week.
