A contractor, working on behalf of the North Thanet Link project, will be present on local roads starting next week (commencing 16th March) and going on until early April, to undertake utility surveys. Please accept our apologies for the limited advanced notice, the survey programme has been unexpectedly accelerated due to contractor availability and future road space constraints.

The survey areas are shown in the accompaying image and highlighted in yellow. (Double-click to expand.) Acol Hill, Margate Road, Manston Road (Margate and Acol and Birchington), Columbus Avenue and Shottendane Road (including side roads) are all being surveyed.

This process will involve a ground penetrating radar survey of existing utility pipes, chambers, and cables to help inform detailed design for the next stage of the scheme development. They will be undertaken in sections with traffic control in place to safeguard the surveyors (which may include stop and go control, temporary traffic signals, and lane closures). Access will be maintained for property and businesses.

Please be aware, these works may create a level of traffic delay, for which we apologise in advance. The contractor has been briefed on the importance of these routes and will seek to positively manage where they are able to.
