Saffron Walden Town A team are the North West Essex Bowling Association Champions. In a close fought game at Quendon Bowls Club, Saffron Walden overcame an exceptionally strong Silver End side, packed with top Essex players, by 52-48. Captain, Roland Saich, said: "This was a brilliant win with all three Saffron Walden rinks bowling well." Club President, Rhidian Morgan, said: "Congratulations to all the players on a well-deserved victory and thank you to all the club members who travelled to support the team. It was an excellent way to round off another very successful year for the club."

You can get to Abbey Lane either at the traffic lights on the high street or from going down Gibson Way and turning left at the end. You enter a single lane part of the road and once you have passed the King Edward Almshouses on your right you will see a car park, also on your right, and then the clubhouse.
