NOTICE OF VACANCY

Little Marlow Parish Council

Local Government Act 1972- Sections 87 and 89

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the resignation of Councillor Anthea Falk a casual vacancy for a Councillor has arisen in the Office of Little Marlow Parish Council.

If a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to:

The Returning Officer, Buckinghamshire Council, The Gateway, Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, Bucks HP19 8FF

by TEN electors of Little Marlow Parish within 14 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) of the date of this notice an election will be held to fill the vacancy. Otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option from 26th June 2020.

Please note that if an election is requested, a poll cannot currently take place until 6 May 2021 as a result of the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 and the Coronavirus Act 2020.

After the expiry of the 14 day notice period and if the vacancy is to be filled by co-option, applications are invited from candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for being a Councillor. Details of the eligibility criteria are on the Application Form which can be obtained from the Clerk to the Council.
