We’re writing to inform you of some upcoming essential resurfacing and white lining work on the A1 southbound exit/entry slip roads at the Morkery Lane junction. Once complete, road users will benefit from a smoother, safer carriageway.
When will this work take place?
We’ll be carrying out work overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday 1 September 2026 for 3 nights.
What does this mean for you?
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and road users, the entry and exit slips at the Morkery Lane junction and a southbound lane one closure on the A1 will be in place, as detailed below.
During closures, a fully signed diversion will be in place which has been agreed by the local authority.
Where it is safe to do so, access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained in emergency situations.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.
We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
Please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
