Today saw members of Oakley Bowling Club's Green's Team take delivery of a new state of the art Dennis FT 610 mower which will supplenent an existing machine and be taken into use for the coming season. Machines of this type do not come cheap and the Club is enormously grateful that 50% of the cost will be met by a grant secured through the Strengthening Communities Grant Scheme, a new funding scheme introduced this year by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and which is administered on its behalf by the Basingstoke Voluntary Association. Half of the grant has already been received and it is hoped to receive the balance in the near future.
