At Longmeadow yesterday morning Oakley played Parkside BC in the 3rd and 4th Play Off for the Moreton Plate. The scores were tied at 5 ends but by 10 ends Oakley had a narrow 2 shot lead, which increased to 4 by 15 ends. Parkside then made a move and by 18 ends Oakley had dropped four shots behind. That, however, was the end of the recovery with Oakley winning all the remaining 6 ends to emerge triumphant by 43-37.

Oakley Scores

Eric Lamkin, John Ryan, Paul Cresswell and Dave Harrison won 26-13

David Clewer, Norman Frost, John Wilson and Fred Norris lost 17-24

After the game Captain Barry Lee was presented with a cheque for £40.
