As we reach the semi final stages of the various District Competitions, Oakley members are still featuring in 11 of them. One winner is guaranteed and we are certain of three other finalists. In the North Hants women's events Janie Vickers has qualified for the semi final of the Singles and with her partners the semi finals of the Triples and Fours, whilst Laura Butler has reached the final of the Dolly Anstey Two Wood singles. Not to be outdone the men are also going well in the Basingstoke and District competitions with the Pairs in the names of Terry Heath and Trevor Wearn meeting in one semi final. Jocky Wilson and partner are in the semi final of the Over 60s Pairs. Trevor Wearn and Spencer Kerley are in the Singles semi finals and in the Two Wood triples we have three of the semi finalists, the teams of Sean Lassman, Ted Brown and Jim Fitzgerald with the last two playing each other. In the Whitchurch League Competitions Terry Heath has reached the semi final of the Brookhouse Cup (Champion of Champions) and meets Ric Newson in the semi of the Singles. Finally two of our youngsters Heather Statham and Nicole Rogers have reached the Final of the Whitchurch Novice Singles thus ensuring the title will come to Oakley. The Club's congratulations go to all who have done so well and we wish them good luck and success in their final games.
