OAKLEY MEN COLLAPSE IN HANTS AND BERKS CUP

At Kingsclere this evening in the Hants and Berks Cup, the trial ends were played in sunshine but heavy rain interrupted the early ends and by 5 ends Oakley were already 9 shots adrift. By 10 ends, however, scores were level and a short lived rally from Oakley saw us move into a lead of 14 shots. Sadly though we then proceeded to lose some big scores and although at 15 ends we still led by 2 shots the scores continued to go against Oakley and at 18 ends Kingsclere had moved out to the 12 shot lead which they maintained to the end.

Oakley Scores: Ashley Nethercliffe, Malcolm Grime, Bob Goodyear and Fred Norris lost 17-28, David Clewer, Martin Smith, Trevor Wearn and Ted Brown lost 19-29, Ric Newson. Sean Lassman, Dave Harrison and Spencer Kerley won 20-11
