Fund Raising
The club recognises the commitment of members so far in:
  1. contributing financially to the new green
  2. committing to the membership fee and
  3. the time and effort contributed by so many to keeping the club open during what has been a very challenging 2020 season.
In addition to these some members have expressed an interest in making a specific financial commitment to assist in the further development of the club’s facilities As many of you are aware our current project is to identify and purchase suitable artificial lighting so that play can take place once the natural light fades. We will be testing a system soon. To ensure that we can survive and prosper during 2021 we are introducing two approaches for raising the finances to meet the cost of lighting. Please do not feel any pressure to get involved in this, but read on for details if you do.
Auctions and On-Line Sales
In future ‘live’ auctions might be feasible but at the moment we will have to run a digital version. We are inviting members to contribute items that might appeal to others. We have already heard about bikes and golf clubs that might be forthcoming! Any items donated will be offered for sale with all proceeds going towards our current project.
The first item available is a set of woods - Dark Blue Drake’s Pride Professionals Size 2, stamped WB20. These have been donated by Ken Eatwell’s family. There are also some clothes that have been laundered and left untouched in the men’s changing room for two weeks.
Adrian is taking charge of this activity so sealed bids to him for the woods by November 15th please and offers for any of the clothing.
Bonds
The club is now able to issue bonds offered in multiples of £100 up to a maximum of £500, for members who have expressed a specific interest in making a direct investment. This will be a non-interest bearing loan against which a bond certificate will be issued. Anonymity will be advised. Bonds will be repaid on request. Unless of course the bond is converted into a gift at any time. Please see Tom Wilkes for further details.
