Old Friendships Revisited
Malmesbury Bowls and Social Club
Swindon Town Gardens Bowls Club made their first visit for a friendlly game after a 30 years hiatus.
It was lovely to see old friendships revisited as Captain Dolly reminisced on the games against Malmesbury in the past.
Captain Tim and Captain Dolly lead their respective teams with joy and enthusiasm in a rain interrupted but very enjoyable afternoon.
With thunderstorms rumbling in the distance and with flashes of lightning across the sky, it looked as if the afternoon's game would be abandoned. However, with an early tea whilst it rained, we managed to finish the 21 ends. Malmesbury won on the day but that was not important, as we look forward to the return fixture next year.
The Smarties were "won" by one of the Swndon rinks who seemed to be overwhelmed with the award. More pictures can be found in the Gallery http://www.mbasc.org.uk/community/malmesbury-bowls-and-social-club-9981/swindon-town-gardens-9th-september-2017/
