Apologies for the brevity of this match report. You could say I should have written it up earlier while the details were still fresh. You might also say I left it deliberately, in the hope some of those details would fade...

Rink 3 put in a solid effort, winning 8 ends. The final score was 16–11 to Ashburton — a result that initially felt a bit disappointing, but began to look more respectable when compared to...

Rink 4, who won 6 ends, but came up against a formidable team. The final score there was 34–7. Yes, that’s typed correctly!

Were we disappointed? Of course. But did we play badly? Not at all. We simply came up against a side who played extremely well — particularly their skip on Rink 4, who seemed to place bowl after bowl exactly where it needed to be. Impressive to watch, and inspiring too. One day, that'll be me...!
