NOTIFICATION OF VACANCY

Notice is hereby given that there is currently one vacancy on Farnsfield Parish Council and any qualified person who wishes to be considered for co-option is asked to complete an application form[1] and submit to the Clerk of the Council at the address or by email as given below. The position remains open until the vacancy is filled.

You will be required to attend a Full Council Meeting and may, if you wish, present a 2-minute presentation to the Council giving details of your suitability for the role.

To be a Parish Councillor you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a British citizen, or a citizen of the Commonwealth or the European Union
  • Be 18 years old or older on the day you become co-opted
  • Have for the whole of the 12 months prior to co-option:

Been an elector of the Parish and either occupied or owned/rented premises in the parish

or

Resided within 3 miles of the boundary of the Parish

or

Had your principal or only place of work in the Parish You cannot be a Parish Councillor if you:

  • Are the subject of a bankruptcy restriction order or interim order
  • Have, within five years before the day you are co-opted, been convicted in the United Kingdom of any offence and have received a prison sentence (whether suspended or not) for a period of over 3 months without the option of a fine
  • Work for the Parish Council

The term of office of persons co-opted will be up until May 2027.

We welcome applications from those interested in community life, in improving the experience of villagers living in Farnsfield. The actual role tasks, can be very varied depending on your experience, skills and interests and may cover, environment, planning applications, finance, community engagement, local projects, health & wellbeing, IT & admin, etc.
