Parish Council Meeting - 2nd September 2026

The next Meeting of Thurgoland Parish Council is to be held at Crane Moor Methodist Chapel, Crane Moor Road, Crane Moor on Wednesday 2nd September 2026 at 7pm, for the purpose of transacting the following business:-

AGENDA

1. To accept apologies for absence and to receive Declarations of Interest in items on the agenda.

2. To confirm the minutes of the meetings held on Tuesday 7th July 2026.

3. To report matters arising from the minutes not on the agenda.

4. To adjourn the business of the Parish Council in order that members of the public can bring items to the attention of the Parish Council.

5. To receive consider any actions required re Crane Moor Recreation Ground

6. To consider proposals for additional Remembrance events/actions in November

7. To consider proposals for Parish Christmas event

8. To consider production of Autumn Parish Newsletter

9. To receive information regarding matters having financial implications for the Council

   1. to note payments made during the summer break approved by Chair and Vice-Chair
   2. to agree payments and income in accordance with the Parish Council budget as notified (draft Appendix A)
   3. To receive current financial situation vs Parish Council Budget (Appendix B at the meeting).

10. To receive update regarding Audit and correction signed by the Chair and Clerk

11. To receive an update regarding hanging baskets including costs

12. To receive an update with regards to Thurgoland Cricket club

13. To consider planning applications received since this agenda was produced

14. To note comments made on planning applications received in July and August

15. To receive information on approved/declined/pending planning applications

16. To receive and consider matters relating to land the Council owns or manages.

17. To receive items to bring to the attention of Neighbourhood Services/Penistone Environmental Services

18. To receive any comments/information relating to footpath and public rights of way issues

19. To receive items related to roads and transport

20. To agree winner of July and August’s calendar competitions

21. To receive a verbal report from the Clerk on progress on outstanding items

22. To receive any correspondence received and reports from external meetings

23. To agree upon any news items received to be posted for inclusion on website, noticeboards and social media

24. To be notified of any matters to be placed on the agenda of the next meeting of the Parish Council

25. To confirm that the next Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 7th October 2026 and will be held at Thurgoland Primary School, Halifax Road, Thurgoland at 7.00pm.
