Parish Council Meeting - 4th November 2026

The next meeting of Thurgoland Parish Council is to be held at Thurgoland Primary School, Halifax Road, Thurgoland on Wednesday 4th November 2026 at 7pm, for the purpose of transacting the following business:-

AGENDA

1. To accept apologies for absence and to receive Declarations of Interest in items on the agenda.

2. To confirm the minutes of the meetings held on Wednesday 7th October 2026.

3. To report matters arising from the minutes not on the agenda.

4. To adjourn the business of the Parish Council in order that members of the public can bring items to the attention of the Parish Council.

5. To consider any actions required re Crane Moor Recreation Ground

6. To receive information and consider matters relating to land the Council owns or manages.

7. To receive information regarding arrangements for Remembrance Sunday

8. To consider arrangements for Parish Christmas event

9. To agree winner of October’s calendar competition, and to agree actions regarding printing of calendar

10. To receive information regarding matters having financial implications for the Council

    1. to receive update regarding External Audit including recommendations
    2. to consider the Insurance Renewal and renewal costs
    3. to agree payments and income in accordance with the Parish Council budget as notified (draft Appendix A)
    4. To receive current financial situation vs Parish Council Budget (Appendix B at the meeting).

11. To consider the following Planning Applications:
    2026/0802 Fiddler Farm, Old Mill Lane, Thurgoland, Sheffield, S35 7EG : Change of use of land to create a private riding arena

12. To consider planning applications received since this agenda was produced

13. To receive information on approved/declined planning applications and other planning matters

14. To receive items to bring to the attention of Neighbourhood Services/Penistone Environmental Services

15. To receive any comments/information relating to footpath and public rights of way issues

16. To receive items related to roads and transport

17. To receive a verbal report from the Clerk on progress on outstanding items

18. To receive any correspondence received and reports from external meetings

19. To agree upon any news items received to be posted for inclusion on website, noticeboards and social media

20. To be notified of any matters to be placed on the agenda of the next meeting of the Parish Council

21. To confirm that the next Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 2nd December 2026 and will be held at Thurgoland Primary School, Halifax Road, Thurgoland at 7.00pm.
