Park Revamp - Update 10th June 2022.
Play Park Revamp
The play park revamp is the first phase of a 4 phase scheme that seeks to improve the village play and sport facilities.
The 4 phases include:
- A new play park
- A new mother and toddler play area
- A new surface, basketball nets and football goals on the MUGA
- New fencing and new anti slip painted surface to the tennis courts
We are seeking to raise £105 000 to refurbish our village play park as phase 1 of or scheme. Phases 2 to 4 will be subject to additions fund raising.
To date we have raised around £90 000 through community fund raising events and successful grant applications. Our project is community led in association with the Long Riston Playing Fields Committee which is a registered charity. The project will help children and adults develop more active and therefore healthier lifestyles. The existing play park is under used as the equipment is over 25 years old and as a result many items are broken or have been condemned and removed for safety reasons. The play park revamp project will give community a much needed focal point where children and adults can play, socialise and exercise.
