At our last AGM members voted unanimously that we should try and negotiate the pitch fee increase with Royale. We are aware Royale can (and do) negotiate. However, when we approached them they told us they will not be reviewing it.

We are aware many residents decided not to pay the increased pitch fee from April on the grounds of deterioration/reduced services. The law says if we don’t agree to the increase we can let a tribunal decide. The tribunal will consider things like deterioration and make a decision. The decision of the tribunal will only apply to those residents who went through this process. If you paid the increase it is assumed you agreed it was fair.

It is important that we continue to pay the old rate (if you stop paying the pitch fee completely you will be in trouble).

Royale are likely to use the tribunal to decide and the residents association can represent members. We have taken legal advice and are currently preparing an evidence bundle for the tribunal.

Based on ours and Royale's submissions, the tribunal can say:-

a) We don't think any pitch increase is reasonable.

b) We think a smaller increase is reasonable.

c) We think the increase is fair

If they decide (c) we will have one month to catch up with payments from April so even though you're not paying the increase, please save it in case it needs to be paid.

Finally, if you get a form from the tribunal please let us know.
