Dunton Park Residents’ Association - Advice on Pitch Fee Letters

1. Most of you who contested the 2023 pitch fee should have received a letter with the following. -

a) A statement showing what we owe from April 2023 following the tribunal’s decision to reduce it from 13.4% to 9.4%.

b) a notice informing us of this year’s increase (4%) which is payable from October 2024 onwards.

2. Unfortunately, we have spotted errors with calculations on the arrears statement and it’s possible you’ve been overcharged. We have discussed this with Regency and they will re-look at all these bills, correct the errors and send new invoices.

3. You can ignore the arrears invoice until new calculations come out in the post. But people still need to change their standing orders from October because this is separate to the arrears.

a) Firstly you need to start paying the 9.4% increase FROM OCTOBER.

b) Secondly, you need to take action on this year’s 4% increase due from OCTOBER.

If you are happy to pay this year's 4% increase, the figure already populated on the standing order form should be correct (the pitch fee you pay now + the 9.4% + 4% = the sum on the new standing order form). No adjustments will be needed, just send it to your bank or relay that figure to them in another way if you have online/telephone banking so it kicks in from October.

If you want to contest this year’s 4% because of the state of the site and loss of services. Bear in mind the total figure in section 4 of the standing order mandate includes the 4% so you’ll need to adjust that figure (subtract it) before submitting the form (or letting your bank know the new figure from October). If you don’t remove it, the landlord is entitled to think you are happy with it and you won’t be able to contest it. Finally, please let the residents association know in writing if you contest the 4% - we are happy to represent you again.

If anyone is still struggling to understand and wants us to look over your paperwork, our Chairman will be in the club hall on Saturday 31 August from 6pm to 7pm to speak to.
