Business hub and homes plan for Swanley gateway site
Sevenoaks District Council has applied for planning permission to transform the site at 27 to 37 High Street Swanley, which forms part of southern gateway to the town.
The project would bring a business hub and 17 new homes to the site of the former Meeting Point. The high-quality development is intended to help kick-start the regeneration of this important gateway site, setting the standard for future developments in Swanley.
The business hub space on the ground floor will be flexible, allowing public access, supporting new jobs, new ways of working and the local economy. Above the business hub would be 17 new one and two bedroom homes.
Energy efficiency is at the heart of the plans with air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points. Car and cycle parking is included along with a communal garden that can be used by the business hub and residents.
Cllr Peter Fleming, Leader of the Sevenoaks District Council, says: “We are excited to bring forward this important development for the town. We are proposing a modern, high quality design that would set the standard for new development in Swanley. We believe this development will help kick-start the regeneration of this important gateway to the town.”
Residents have until Monday 17 February 2020 to comment on the proposals.
