Our new venue for a hound Play Date proved to be a 'Greyt' success. We hired the indoor equestrian arena at Walford College Baschurch on 7th May so that people could bring their hounds for a run in a secure area. Some of us got a bit lost getting there but we had a good turn out of people and their lovely hounds. Some were dogs that have been re-homed by GRSB RGT and some were hounds new to us. The arena is huge and once the dogs realised they were free they were soon running about. Purdy managed to find the muck bucket and tried to eat some with her muzzle on. Sid kept us entertained by deciding to paddle in the water bucket. We can always trely on him to make us smile. Greyhounds and lurchers were running and although it got a bit hairy at one point there were enough people around to sort it out.

After about half an hour most of the dogs had flaked out and it was left to the owners to spend the time chatting about houndie topics. It was lovely to meet new people and their dogs and to offer support if needed.

We are looking to hold a play day once a month and the next day will be posted on here and Facebook when it isconfirmed. Dependant on numbers we will perhaps put smaller groups in next time as we now know that they do not run for the full hour. We may also be provided some refreshments for the 'hoomans' too.
