Good morning,

I hope you are all keeping well.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that things are progressing on schedule for the bridge to be returned to full service on Saturday. This week, the contractors are testing and commissioning the bridge and training the bridgekeepers to ensure that they are competent to operate the new control system.

We’re planning a “soft” re-opening this Friday afternoon and we would like to invite you to participate in a “sail by” between 15:30 and 16:30 – in effect, to be amongst the first vessels to come through the bridge since the improvement works.

We would like to grab some photos to use with the wider announcement that the bridge is back in service and it would be nice to have one or two boats passing through so if you’re able to join us let me know so that I can co-ordinate the ‘floatilla’.

Kind regards, Nicki

Potton Bridge: Short closure – 16 July 2020

This is to inform you that Potton Bridge will be closed to marine traffic from approximately 08:30 on Thursday 16 July. The closure is to allow for maintenance of the power network that serves the bridge and will be for up to 1 hour (unless a defect is found).

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Regards, Nicki
