Press Release - Free online cooking course!

Learn how to cook healthy food on a budget with a free online cooking course, starting Tuesday 17 October 2023.

The five-week course is run by Sevenoaks District Council and will teach participants to prepare cost-effective, nutritious and delicious meals whilst learning how to reduce food waste.

Everyone who completes the course will also receive a free, energy efficient slow cooker worth £45 (T&Cs apply).

This course is open to residents in the Sevenoaks District who are in receipt of one or more means-tested benefits or have a household income of less than £26,000.

Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says:

“Learning to cook is such an important life skill that we all need. This course will show you how easy it is to cook healthy meals on a budget that are not just good for you but taste great too.

“Everyone who completes the course gets a fantastic slow cooker to make meal times easier and even more cost effective. We expect this course to be really popular so book on early!”
