BATCHWOOD HALL BOWLING CLUB – PRESS REPORT - 24th August 2026

Batchwood Hall Bowlling Club is sad to announce the death of former President Beryl Birch. She had been a member for many years, together with her husband Stan, before his death. She was the backbone of the club and an excellent bowler right up until the end of the 2025 season.

She was a wonderful mentor to new and old members and a stalwart of the St Albans & District Ladies Bowling Association Executive, working as Match Secretary for sixteen years. She enjoyed the company of bowlers and went on many tours with the District. When President of Batchwood Hall BC she always attended committee meetings to give the benefit of her experience and knowledge. Beryl also enjoyed all the social activities of the club including many a win at Bingo! She will always be remembered and sadly missed. See photo
